Hair Transplant Procedure

A hair transplant procedure involves removing hair follicles from a dense area, such as the back of your head, and implanting them into areas of your scalp that have thinning or no hair. The follicles are then expected to grow and produce healthy new hairs, which can help boost your overall hair density or restore your natural hairline.압구정모발이식추천

There are two main types of hair transplant procedures: follicular unit extraction (FUE) and follicular unit strip surgery (FUSS). During a FUE procedure, the surgeon removes individual hairs from the donor area as they would do in a normal haircut. They then gently place the follicles into small holes in the bald or thinning parts of your scalp. This technique is less invasive than FUSS and typically takes up to two hours to perform.

In a FUSS procedure, the surgeon creates a larger scar in your scalp. They remove a strip of skin, which is usually around 6 to 10 inches long and can stretch from ear to ear. They then close the incision with stitches. The surgeon uses a microscope to separate the removed strip of skin into tiny follicular units, each of which contains one or more hairs. The surgeon then implants these follicles into the affected areas of your scalp, either on the top of your head or on the sides of your head.

While most hair transplants are successful, there is a risk that some of the newly-inserted follicles won’t take. This can lead to thinning or patchy areas, and it may require another surgery to fix the problem. The surgeon may also recommend additional treatments, such as platelet-rich plasma, to boost the growth of your new hair follicles.

Recovery from a hair transplant is similar to that of any other surgical procedure. There may be some crusting or scabs on the treatment sites, and you may need to restrict your physical activity for several days. Any numbness in the area should disappear within a few weeks. Some patients experience a temporary inflammation of the new hair follicles, called folliculitis, but this can be treated with antibiotics and hot compresses.

It is important to follow your surgeon’s postprocedure instructions for best results. This is especially true during the first month, when you should protect your transplanted follicles from any external contact. You should also avoid spending too much time in direct sunlight and wear a hat when going outside. After a few months, you should begin to notice that your transplanted follicles are beginning to grow new hair. However, the new hair can take up to nine months to fully appear.모우다의원
